摘要: Eurycoma longifolia also known as tongkat ali, is widely used as a traditional herbal medicine for its aphrodisiac property and anti-malaria effect. It is a shrub or tree belonging to Eurycoma genus of Simaroubaceae family, and native to Indonesia and Malaysia. Phytochemistry researches reported that the main chemical constituents of E. longifolia are quassinoids and alkaloids. This article is presented as a review on the crucial components of E. longifolia for the further research and development of the plant.
