Dear Researcher:
Have you completed a research project in the field of traditional medicine studies but not yet published the work? The editors of Asian Journal of Traditional Medicines invite you to share your knowledge by submitting articles that focus on the basic and clinical aspects of traditional medicines.
Historically, traditional medicines have played a very important role in human development and wellbeing. Different countries and cultures have own systems of traditional medicine and also their own theories to explain their mechanisms of action. Even today, in many parts of the world, and especially inAsia, traditional medicines are still widely used with thousands of medicinal herbs or natural products being routinely prescribed every day by doctors qualified in the use of traditional medicines. Moreover, the unique efficacy of traditional medicines in the treatment of many diseases, especially those of a chronic or complicated nature, have attracted the keen interest of many scientists and doctors engaged in the development of new drugs and clinical treatments.
Asian Journal of Traditional Medicines is devoted to the dissemination of scientific knowledge relating to all aspects of traditional medicines, including resources, medical materials processing, pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, quality control, pharmaceutics, pharmacology and clinical practice. Although there has been a steady growth in the publication of scientific papers describing all aspects of traditional medicines, there is no single forum that focuses onAsia, the biggest population of users of traditional medicines in the world. It is my hope and belief that the foundation of Asian Journal of Traditional Medicines will provide a forum for Asian scientists and doctors who are interested in traditional medicines to publish the results of their scientific research and clinical experience.
I look forward to the active participation of pharmaceutical scientists from all over the world and to working with you in the launch and development of the journal.
Sincerely,
Chunfu Wu
