Abstract: The whole plant of Mimosa pudica Linn has been used as a traditional drug in Brazilian Northeast native. M. pudica belonging to Fabaceae genus of Mimosaceae family, a kind of perennial herb found widely distributed in tropical subtropical parts of India. M. pudica is famous for its alkaloids, along with several valuable secondary metabolites like steroids, flavonoids, and glycosylflavones. The plant extracts have various pharmacological bioactivities such as anti-tumor activity, anti-oxidant activity, anxiolytic activity, anti-inflammatory activity, and so on. It is the most controversial and effective natural origin that has a tremendous future for research.
