摘要: The genus Piper is a large genus of flowering plants, belonging to the Piperaceae family. Phytochemical investigations of the genus Piper have resulted in the isolation of alkaloids, lignans, flavones, unsaturated amides, aristolactams, monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, ketones, propenylphenols, chalcones, long and short chain esters, arylpropanoids and aldehydes. Researches have shown that the most significant chemical constituents of the genus Piper are amide alkaloids. They have multiple biological activities and a good development prospect, which has been closely concerned by researchers. This study is going to make an overview of the amide alkaloids of this genus, aiming at its further development and potential value.
