摘要: The paper deals with screening of antimicrobial activity of leaves and root of Acampe praemorsa (Roxb.). The plant material was
collected from the Phulwari-ki-Nal sanctuary of Southern Rajasthan. Results were compared with standard drug streptomycin.
Petroleum ether extract of leaves showed significant activity against Escherichia coli (17.66±0.47 mm). Methanolic extract of
fruit pulp and fruit rind of the plant showed good activity against all the bacteria tested and the zone of inhibition varied from
10.00 mm to 17.66 mm. Less encouraging activity of methanolic extract of leaf against Proteus mirabilis was reported.
