Euphorbia fischeriana (Langdudaji in Chinese), a common traditional Chinese herbal medicine, has been used to treat cancer. It is well known that liver cancer is one of the most common malignant cancers worldwide. In this study, molecular docking and network analysis were carried out to explore the anticancer mechanism of active constituents from E. fischeriana as an effective therapeutic approach to treat liver cancer. Multiple active compounds of E. fischeriana were docked with 48 protein targets related with liver cancer. The networks of compound-target and target-pathway were constructed through network pharmacology analysis, predicting the relationships of active ingredients, significant targets and the key pathways. Our results demonstrated that Linoleic acid glyceride (FO7), Phytol (FO5), 3,4,6-tri-O-galloyl-D-glucose (FTa10), 3,7,11-tridecylenic acid-4,8,12-trimethyl formate (FO11), Ingenol-20-myristinate (FD96) might target with proteins associated with liver cancer. Furthermore, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway and MAPK signaling pathway might be the key pathways of the treatment of liver cancer. In addition, the interaction mode of these active components with nuclear receptor coactivator 2 (3up3) was analyzed.

This article was aimed to study the antiinflammatory and antipruritic effects of essential oil of camphor leaves and its possible mechanism. The chemical constituents of essential oil of camphor leaves were analyzed by GC-MS. Mice allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) models were induced 0.5% 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB) solution. The contents of IL-4, 5-LOX, LTB4 and LTR1 in serum and the histomorphology of mice ear cutaneous tissue were measured after induction. Pathological examination showed a large number of inflammatory cells in the model group. Inflammatory cells were not seen in essential oil high dose group. The dermis slightly thickened in the low doses of essential oil group. The contents of 5-LOX, LTB4 and LTR1 of the drug groups were significantly decreased (P < 0.05) compared with that of the model group. However, the essential oil of camphor leaf had no significant effect on IL-4 (P > 0.05). Essential oil of camphor leaves has significant antiinflammatory and antipruritic effects on ACD by inhibiting the 5-LOX-LTB4-LTR1 pathway.

Piper longum Linn. is a native of the Indo-Malaya region, belongs to the family Piperaceae. It is a slender aromatic climber widely distributed in the tropical and subtropical regions. As a traditional ethnic drug, P. longum contains various chemical constituents such as alkaloids, volatile oil and lignans. The extract of P. longum has been reported to show various activities like antitumor, antioxidant and hepatoprotective activity. Hence, this paper is presented as a review centered on the main chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of P. longum, aiming at its further development and potential value.

Daphne acutiloba Rehd., belonging to Daphne genus of Thymelaeaceae is an evergreen shrub mainly distributed in the west of China. The roots, stem barks, leaves and fruits of this plant had been used as folk medicines for the treatment of rheumatoid arthriths, apoplesia and stomachache ache. Daphne diterpenes and tieranes diterpenes, guaiacane type sesquiterpene, lignans, diflavane and flavonoids, sterides, aliphatics and phenols were isolated from Daphne acutiloba Rehd. Researches demonstrated that the main chemical constituents of D. acutiloba Rehd. have multiple activities and good development prospect. This paper is presented as a review centering on the main chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of D. acutiloba Rehd. for the further research and development of this plant.
