Abstract: Seven iridoid and phenylpropanoid glycosides were isolated from the roots of Scrophularia ningpoensis Hemsl. by various chromatographic techniques. Then they were characterized by physico-chemical properties and spectral data as 8-O-(p-coumaroyl)-harpagide (1), 8-O-feruloylharpagide (2), harpagide (3), cis-acteoside (4), sibirioside A (5), acretoside (6), and 6-O-caffeoyl-β-D-fructofuranosyl-(2→1)-α-D-glucopyranoside (7). Compound 5 was obtained from this plant for the first time and compounds 1, 6, 7 were obtained for the first time from the Scrophularia L.

Key words: Scrophularia ningpoensis Hemsl, iridoid glycosides, phenylpropanoid glycosides
