Abstract

Abstract: Isatis indigotica Fort. is used as a widely Chinese Herbal Medicine whose roots and leaves also known as Isatidis Radix and Isatidis Folium, for clearing heat and detoxication in China. Isatidis Radix and Isatidis Folium have more extensive pharmacological activities, such as antibacterial and antiviral. I. indigotica has an extensive clinical applications and good prospect for development, which has been closely watched by researchers. The article is going to make an overview of the chemical constituents, pharmacological applications of Isatidis Radix and Isatidis Folium. Therefore, it is useful to make a further research and development of this plant.
