Effective compounds isolated from Chinese herbs play an important role in the development of new candidate drugs, which can be widely used in the treatment of various diseases. Previous literature has revealed that Stellera chamaejasme L. possesses the activity of inhibiting liver cancer cells. Nevertheless, the interactions between active compounds isolated from this herb and targets related to liver cancer are still not very clear. In this study, we applied network pharmacology-based analysis to figure out these relationships. And eight compounds were predicted to have the most significant activity against liver cancer. At the same time, the binding modes between the top eight candidate compounds and the protein target Glutamine synthetase which is likely to be the most important target associated with liver cancer were identified. It is believed that the study can provide a reference for the discovery of new drug molecules.

    摘要 ( 450 )   PDF(773KB) ( 646 )
In order to search for active components from Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim (ZBM) in treating hemorrhoids. A bioassayguided separation method was used to study the chemical constituents of ZBM by taking the different extracts and fractions of ZBM to promote the healing of ulcer in the external hemorrhoids model of perianal ulcer in rats induced by acetic acid as active index. It was found that the ethanol extract of ZBM was chromatographed on an ODS open tubular column to get three fractions which the second fractions reflected good therapeutic effect on hemorrhoids model rats. The second fractions were further isolated and purified to obtain three compounds which were identified as hydroxy-α-sanshool (Hαss), hydroxyl-β-sanshool (Hβss) and hydroxy-γ-sanshool (Hγss), respectively. The content of these three sanshools in ZBM is relatively high. Correlation studies showed that these three sanshools had the function of activating some specific receptors to play the role of analgesia, anti-inflammation and promoting ulcer healing. So, it is preliminarily judged that these three sanshools are the main active components of ZBM in the treatment of external hemorrhoids.

    摘要 ( 403 )   PDF(988KB) ( 537 )
Phryma leptostachya L., belonging to the genus Phryma of the Phrymaceae family, is used as traditional folklore medicine and plant pesticide in East Asia. Recently, increasing attention has been given to P. leptostachya due to its numerous medicinal properties, such as the insect resistance and antineoplastic activity. As is reported, the chemical composition of P. leptostachya, including lignans, triterpenoids together with flavonoids, alkaloids and phenolic acids, has been studied. Among the compounds, lignans are the typical ingredients. This review intends to provide basis about the chemical constituents and pharmacological activities of P. leptostachya for further exploitation and utilization.

    摘要 ( 403 )   PDF(2644KB) ( 1111 )
The plants of Croton genus, belonging to Euphorbiaceae family, are widely used as herbal medicine in the folk. Popular uses include treatment of cancer, HIV, fever, hypertension, inflammation, intestinal worms, malaria, pain, ulcers and weight-loss. Diterpenoids are very common in Croton, corresponding to clerodanes, tiglianes, kauranes, labdanes, cembranes, halimanes, trachylobanes, crotofolanes and sarcopetalanes. There are numerous studies indicated that the main active chemical constituents of Croton were diterpenoids. The plants of Croton genus have been closely watched by researchers due to its multiple activities and good development prospect. To obtain a more comprehensive perspective, it is necessary to publish a review focusing on the “diterpenoids from the genus Croton”. This paper is presented as a review concentered on the diterpenoids different core frameworks and its pharmacological effects of Croton genus, which is useful to the further research and development of this plant.
